About

About Halsta Mill

Hallsta paper mill took the lead early on in Holmen's shift towards developing speciality papers. Today, it produces LWU paper and a range of wood-containing printing grades across two paper machines, including several of Holmen’s most innovative products.

Powered by fresh fibre and innovation

The focus is on 100 per cent fresh fibre, which has been the driver in bringing Holmen XLNT, Holmen VIEW and Holmen TRND into production on the mill’s highly efficient paper machines. Hallsta mill also has PM12, the paper machine behind Holmen BOOK, widely regarded as one of the best book papers available.

Efficient energy solutions

Innovation runs deep at Hallsta. Its climate-smart energy systems allow residual products to be repurposed as biofuel, contributing to both environmental performance and operational efficiency.

Customer benefits

Hallsta’s papers offer cost-efficiencies and access to environmentally certified materials. The mill’s flexible transport capacity, including road, rail and its own port, ensures reliable delivery and broad market reach.
