Braviken Paper Mill is located outside Norrköping, 160 km south of Stockholm. The mill produces paper for magazines, books and direct mail on two paper machines. Production is 100 per cent based on fresh wood fibres from pulpwood and wood chips sourced from the adjacent Holmen Timber sawmill.

About Braviken Mill
Smart synergies
The co-location of the paper mill and the sawmill creates great synergies that benefit both the production and the environment. The sawmill supplies wood chips for pulp production in exchange for hot water, which it uses to generate steam for its drying kilns. Residual bark, sawdust and dry wood shavings are used for energy production at the mill or for district heating in the nearby heating plant.
Strategic location and efficient logistics
Built in 1977 to replace Holmen’s original city-centre mill, Braviken benefits from excellent transport access. Its deepwater harbour on Bråviken bay enables efficient long-distance shipping. For land transport, the mill is minutes from the E4 motorway and has its own rail connection to the national network, supporting both inbound pulpwood and outbound paper deliveries to European markets.
