Norrköping's own symphony orchestra has placed the city on the map in countless national and international contexts. Not least in recent times, when concerts have suddenly become digital and can be streamed to all corners of the globe. But the local support and getting to meet the orchestra's most loyal audience is always close to the heart.
The region's musical pride plays a wide repertoire, from baroque to rock, with an emphasis on the great romantics of the 19th century. The orchestra currently consists of 85 musicians who give about 80 concerts annually and SON is often hired as a recording orchestra. Perhaps you have heard them in one of their Grammy Award-winning recordings?
Holmen Paper and SON share an interest in the hometown's culture, but also in the belief that music should belong to everyone. With an extensive activity for children and young people, the orchestra invites almost 20,000 students to concerts, school outings and holiday activities every year. Holmen Paper supports the orchestra's accessibility – especially for young people – and has, among other things, enabled events during the Children's Convention Day.
