Holmen SURE is a cost-efficient protective packaging paper. It's used as a base paper for different applications where food contact certification is required – with or without printing. Made from 100% fresh fibres, the paper is light and strong, developed for lightweight paper interleaving in industrial packaging processes. The smooth surface makes the paper suitable also for printing. That's why this paper is so great for restaurant disposable placemats and fast food trayliners.

Holmen SURE is certified for direct food contact according to BfR and FDA.
Holmen SURE Extra, Cream, and Natural
The Holmen SURE family also includes papers in three different hues to use for packaging void fill. Thanks to the TMP production process, all Holmen SURE papers are light-weight but still sturdy. The fresh fibres give the paper bulky properties that make it a great void fill alternative to plastics. Sustainability arguments speak in favour of Holmen SURE protective papers.
Holmen SURE Extra is a white paper with high brightness. Holmen SURE Cream comes in a warm creamy shade. Holmen SURE Natural is brown. With these options you can let the packaging papers compliment your product in the best possible way.

Carbon footprint
Carbon footprint is defined as the total emissions caused by an individual, event, organisation, or product, expressed as carbon dioxide equivalent. Holmen Paper calculates the carbon footprint of our graphical paper products according to the ten toes of the framework set up by CEPI.
Mill certificates
We operate according to globally recognized standards for forest stewardship and management of environmental, energy and quality aspects.
Chain of custody certificates
FSC® – Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC ID FSC-C020071) – is a system for the certification of forestry, supported by several environmental organisations.
PEFC – (PEFC/05-33-134) Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes is an international system for forest certification.
EU Ecolabel -is the official ecolabel of the European Union. The ecolabelling criteria are drawn up by responsible bodies in the Member States. To achieve certification, the products are assessed from a life cycle perspective from raw material to waste. The products have to meet strict environmental, functional and quality requirements. These requirements are tightened on a continuous basis.

Printing on protective packaging papers
Holmen SURE comes in two light-weight grammages, and thanks to the high bulk, the sheet still has high stiffness and stability. The use of fresh fibres enables a paper with natural high opacity for a great print result – in case you’d like to use the surface of your protective paper for a pattern, a brand or a printed message.
Paper properties such as brightness, bulk, and opacity, are defining factors for the visual and tactile experience. With Holmen SURE you can easily create a high-class impression. The paper has a smooth and even surface, making it great for image and colour reproduction. The images and colours impress in detail and contrast without smearing. For the best print results, be sure to use the correct colour profile for your selected printing method and paper.
